About the role: 

At NQ Eye Specialists our medical reception staff are highly valued members of our team – we are a specialist clinic and this is a specialised role.  This position supports our ophthalmologists and clinical team to provide quality healthcare in line with our clinic’s values.  This opportunity offers you the chance to contribute to excellent patient care and further develop your existing skillset while working within a collaborative and supportive team. 


You will be offered training and guidance to perform your daily responsibilities including, but not limited to:  

  • Proficient operation of Genie software

  • Liaising with doctors, other medical professionals and patients on a daily basis

  • Excellent customer service with a compassionate person-centred approach

  • Maintain a well-organised schedule in line with specialists’ requirements

  • Process patient invoices/receipts including competency with electronic claiming systems – e.g. Eclipse/Medicare/DVA

  • Daily banking and reconciliation

  • Booking surgical procedures

  • Manage a high volume of incoming/outgoing enquiries

  • General administrative support to other team members as required

About you: 

  • Previous reception experience is essential (in a specialist medical setting would be highly regarded)

  • Ability to apply your skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to take initiative and prioritise workload

  • Accuracy and sharp attention to detail

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

  • Passion for learning
